As part of ongoing network improvements we have relocated the TFTP server used by Cisco handsets. If you are using a Cisco 7960 or 7940 handset you may notice that the phone logo disappears from the screen or messages saying “TFTP Timeout” are displayed. These will not affect the operation of the phone but might be a distraction. To correct this the phone’s TFTP Server address will need to be updated.
If this is provided automatically by a DHCP server then please ask your network administrator to update option 150 to IP Address 81.150.124.91
If this is set manually on the phone:
1: Go to Settings --> 9 Unlock Config, enter the password “cisco” and press Accept.
2: Go to 3 Network Configuration --> 30 DHCP Enabled. If set to “No” skip next step and go to step 4. If set to “Yes” go to step 3.
3: Go to 32 Alternate TFTP and make sure it is set to Yes
4: Go to 7 TFTP Server, Edit and delete the current address using the back arrow.
5: Enter the address 81.150.124.91 and Accept.
6: Press Save
